Dr. Keitha Shannon-Wright
CEO, Chair & Co-founder
Dr. Keitha runs a private professional counseling practice and heads up daily operations at Priority Health Initiative. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina and has a PhD in Counseling Studies. Dr. Keitha also earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Arts degree in Liberal/Women’s Studies. She has worked in mental health care for over 12 years in various roles that beyond professional counseling include research, quality assurance and improvement, and training. She is a certified mental health integrative medicine provider, as well as a certified health coach through the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute.

Much of Dr. Keitha’s passion lies in research and services that address health-related disparities in underserved populations. She is especially interested in topics that disproportionately impact women and ethnic minority groups. She enjoys serving clients across the lifespan and finds much gratification in working with individuals in young adulthood through late life, couples, and groups. She is a firm believer in approaching health from holistic and integrative perspectives that consider physical, mental, behavioral, social, political, and spiritual well-being. Dr. Keitha also enjoys coaching and mentoring professionals from various backgrounds, as she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a corporate background that spanned nearly 15 years before transitioning into the mental and behavioral health field.

In her spare time, Dr. Keitha enjoys re-energizing through various forms of exercise, bodywork, and meditation. She also loves dancing, site-seeing, reading and writing, and vacationing in the mountains with family and close friends.
